Diverse Programs & Learning Opportunities
We offer a range of learning opportunities for students including an independent directed studies program, a continuing education centre, adventure tourism program, AVID and a regional distributed learning center. A teacher-student laptop program and secondary alternate programs are available. Students’ educational experiences are enhanced through diverse programs in fine arts, trades, athletics, and K-12 French immersion that is offered in Merritt.

Aboriginal Education
School District #58 (Nicola-Similkameen) is proud to serve students from our six local Bands, the Metis Nation and from Aboriginal communities outside of our district.
French Immersion
Our French Immersion school/program encourages students to communicate in French at every opportunity. We teach all subjects in the BC curriculum through the medium of French. From Grade 3 onward, students are also introduced to reading and writing in English.
SCIDES
SCIDES (South Central Interior Distance Education School) is a distributed learning (DL) school offering Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) courses, as well as courses for adult learners. SCIDES a fully funded, public, and accredited BC school with programs and courses that are free for BC residents.
Merritt Schools
The community of Merritt is home to 5 Elementary Schools, 1 Secondary School and the Kengard Learning Centre.
Princeton Schools
The community of Princeton is home to 2 Elementary Schools, 1 Secondary School and The Bridge.
Alternate Schools
SD58 features 3 Alternative Schools offering the highest quality alternative programming.
